A life revolving around work

So I went to Mountain View to visit Kenton at Google today.
o.O
Working at Google is like going to college, only the money is exchanging hands in opposite directions. Though they still have cubiclesish setups... not so boxed in, but cubicles nonetheless. Dry erase whiteboards everywhere... I suppose that's conducive to spontenaeity. The carpets are all polkadotted. Actually, the place is overall quite colorful and cheerful. >_>
And there's food. A lot... of food. Everywhere. In addition to, like, three cafeterias... they have a bunch of food stands in random places. All free. No one watching. It just SITS there and says "TAKE ME!" Drinks too. A little disturbing, actually, considering the sheer volume of people that were there. Google's a rather monstrous machine at this point, as far as raw manpower is concerned.
I had to sign an NDA before going in. :P Not that I saw anything worth mentioning anyway. Just Google's "master plan". It was quite ... er... comprehensive. ;P
Went to check out Kenton's apartment after having lunch... (btw, eggplant has officially moved off the "do not consume" list... but it has to be cooked good. XP ) ... because I'm a curious creature like that. Angelina said my apartment in LJ looked spartan... but I think Kenton wins the overall prize there. ^_^;
I was totally going to commandeer his computer while he was in the bathroom and update my log... but I realized quickly that it wasn't going to happen, since Kenton uses a Qwerty keyboard but with a Dvorak setup. So I couldn't even NAVIGATE to my weblog, let alone update it. Jerk. ;_;
Annnnnd... technically, this trip to Google was the farthest I have ever driven by myself. The nav system in the Prius was a godsend. Though I do find it a little disturbing that at one point, I realized that I had absolutely no idea where I was... but at the same time, I wasn't lost. :x
And my parents came home yesterday, so I don't have to look after the dog anymore. Woot.

Tadaima.
And parents are gone, in Boston. Sigh. What's the point of even coming home sometimes, eh? :P

Changed my mind.
It's an .exe file... so if you're on a Mac... tough break. :P I think, anyway... it's a Director file. Anyway, I just cleaned up the little things, because I decided I'm going to do at least one other version of it... and that one will need to be compatible with web browsers more than this one needs to be. So... yeah. Multiple versions, eventually.
For now, just check that version out and tell me what you think of it, if anything. I left it deliberately quite vague, so if you can figure out what I meant by it... then do try. :x

Storytime!
So I got to campus for my VIS 145A final and am waiting with the rest of the students for the instructor/TA to get here. We're holding our final in a different room from where we hold lecture in, but happens to be the same room that I used for my ICAM 150 section.
So the TA/instructor arrived and it turned out that neither one of them knew the key combination to get into the room. O_o And while they were panicking, I thought, well hey... my TA for ICAM 150 would have the keypad combination. And it turns out that, a few days ago, I had been looking for my TA's office number so that I could turn in my paper... and while looking for it, I found his website on which he had his mobile phone number on it. >_>
So... I pulled out my laptop and got on the net and got the number. The first time I called, Tristan wasn't around to answer. >_> And I didn't leave a message. But I had a feeling... I mean, I almost never manage to answer my cellphone the first time it starts to ring. So I took off the silencing and, sure enough, a few minutes later I got a call back.
Me: "Hello, Tristan?"
Tristan: "Uh, yeah, hi. Who is this?" (you could hear the O_o in his voice. ::snerk::)
Me: "Uh, yeah, hi... this is Cynthia from your section."
Tristan: "Oh, right, Cynthia. Hi. What's up?" (wtf are you calling me, your class is over!)
Me: "Okay, well, this is going to sound really weird... but I'm in a final for another class and they need to get into the room we used for section, so we were wondering if you had the code to get in..."
Tristan: " ... um. Yeah, but I don't have it on me..."
Annina (TA for this class): (to me) "Is that Tristan Shone?"
Me: ::hands cellphone over to Annina::
Annina: "Tristaaaan... it's Annina. We're really desperate!"
In the end, Tristan apparently had to trek out to his studio (only five minutes) to get the numbers... and then we finally got into the room. ::roflolol:: Poor guy... interrupted him in the middle of his cramming for his finals. :x If I recall correctly, he's already graded all our papers too, over the weekend. >_> Insane.
As for my project that I said I would link, I DID finish it... for the turn-in. But it doesn't work online for whatever reason... and there are a few more finishing touches that I'd like to put on it before releasing it. So, give it a couple more days, I suppose. I do like it, though... so I think I'll still have the drive to finish it... after I get a good night's sleep. x_x;

The paper is crappy.
But it is done.
And at this point in my life, that's really all I ask for anymore. :P
Two more assignments... GPS thing/presentation due Monday (thank GOD I already have significant progress on that) and the Director project... due I don't know when? ;_; They still haven't set a date or location for the damn final. God.
... Speaking of which, I don't actually know where to turn IN this paper that I just wrote. -_____-; Very, very sad. Argh.

But Google Video is cool!
New! The Great Masquerade.
Not really new, of course... it's the same video I did for last quarter's class or whatever it was. But Google streaming video is so nice... :x So I thought I'd put it up, in case I ever lost my copy or whatever. Obviously hugely different from Redshift in ... well, basically every single way. But still! There for kicks.
And yes, I'm just going to keep plugging these links until I get bored of it! SO GO WATCH. /roar!

Redshift and Outtakes

music: whatever the outtakes song is... never figured it out. bleh.
Two weeks are up!
Redshift (on Google Video).
Redshift Outtakes (also Google Video).
Note if you don't play Warcraft, I believe most of the stuff will still make sense to you. Just a note though to make the ending make more sense... I'll tell you now that the sound you hear is the sound effect for "Sprint", which is the rogue ability for running very quickly.
Feedback loved! Watch it and listen and make fun of my silly voice acting. ;_;
IMPORTANT NOTE: The video size resolution is not supposed to be very big. Double-check the settings at which you're watching the film on Google Video... click the little arrow in the bottom right and make sure it's at "original size", because I'm not sure that it's the default setting. :P
